When in a public restroom and you have to pee and encounter an unflushed toilet, do you flush it first then pee, or just pee in the other person's pee then flush.
I'll answer first. I'm in the latter category. Germs won't travel upstream.

I will lift it even if it already has pee, but I refuse to lift the seat if I can't do it with my shoe
Same for flushing, shoe only or it aint happenin...

I pee on top of other pee.
I never lift the seat when I go out in public. (maybe I lift it 1% of the time).
I'll flush if I can hit the lever with my foot, or the place is exceptionally clean.
Getting in and out without contacting somebody else's feces, urine, #####, saliva, or blood is my top priority when using public restrooms. It is pretty much one of my top priorities in general.

through the window to illuminate the toilet bowl in brilliant sunlight in our upstairs bathroom. At this same time of the year on a sunny day, you can witness the pi$$ particles as they fly out of the toilet several feet. Landing on the side of the tub and the kids bathroom toys. It's disheartening to witness, but the more you know...
bathroom toys were moved by your's truly.

I certainly won't lift the seat if there is pee on it already. Hit or miss on if I lift otherwise.
On a related note, last week at work somebody managed to get a turd nugget on the front edge of an elongated bowl. I flushed, turd nugget didn't budge, so I picked a different stall. I go back on Friday, that turd nugget is still there. This time the flush took care of the issue.

I saw that show on one of those cable geeky channels that I love where they high speed slo mo film a bunch of random stuff and this was one of them. Makes me want to #### in a gatorade bottle.

Actually...flush and step to the other urinal if it's open.
I just don't want to have someone else's pee splashing on my pants.
And, yes, I double check my shoe laces when I have to wade thru a mini-Hartwell on the bathroom floor.
