They must have told him he would be their starting QB someday. Another recruit swallows the bait that UofSuc uses, and ends up sitting on the bench. Transfer portal awaits this guy.

The irony of this is Clemson chose Lawrence over him, so he gets mad and chooses muschamp who immediately chose hilinski and doty. They just wanted to boost their recruiting class rankings by signing joyner knowing he wasn't the guy that would start.

he is a Zero Threat QB. I think he is a very nice young man who made a mistake, but after watching him play, I am not in the least impressed with his running. I think everyone knew that he could not pass, but thought he could be an effective runner or receiver. Looks like now he will be stuck with a UofSC degree. Good luck with that.

pretty much every other P5 team that recruited him was honest with him about where he would fit-in at the collegiate level. uof5c was the only P5 program who told him he could play QB and he bought their snake oil and opted to attend the ONLY school that told him exactly what he wanted to hear as opposed to the truth. Now...two years later, the only real playing time he's seen at QB is in very limited mop-up duty and in emergency situations. Based on the other QBs CussChamp has signed or has committed, that won't change for him going forward.
If he ever wants to see any significant PT at QB, he'll have little choice but to transfer to a program like Coastal, SC State, Furman or Wofford.
