Getting killed by WV was a blessing...

Feb 10, 2017, 8:02 PM

I never thought I would look back at that game and be glad it happened but the way we lost is why we now have Venables. I grew up during the West years and always listened to my dad and his friends talk about how great the Def was under Danny. Times have changed and a good offense will still put up points on us but we have an identity on Def now that demands respect, and even the media knows no matter who we lose we are going to come back the next year and be just as good. I can't wait to watch our D again next year!

today... it was very disappointing & depressing after the game. The program has come a long way...Its a blessing that Dabo is at the helm.

I was so put off by that loss I went back to the hotel room , packed up and got in my truck and drove all the way to south Georgia .
I slept in my truck at a rest area .
I simply felt despondent and my love for Tiger football led to my inexplicable actions that night and the following morning .
I really felt like we were the better team .

The Tigers still scored 33 points in that game and lost that

one TD going in where WV returned it for a TD. Easily could have been 63-40 (23pt game). Wasn't like it was 70-0. Now 63-17 or 56-7 that's more like getting killed. LOL

The media an our rival tried to refer to the game we got the 70 point beat down. When we got beat by 37. It was bad enough but ESPN and the coots acted as if it happened yesterday for 5 years and we got eat by 70.

I've never heard of another teams loss brought up that many years later with exaggerated facts. Thank God Dabo was building a dynasty here!

That game was close...until the 14point swing by the strip and return TD....we were going in for the lead at that time, I believe...after that, we were pressing....then the pick 6....we were a headcase after that (in that particular game). We couldn't overcome adversity......BOY can we now! It does not matter what it is....LSU in the Peach changed that.

Go Tigers!!!

14 point swing is correct. The fumble return at the one was killer. Then the kickoff was fumbled by us I believe. Led to another quick TD. Then next possession was INT deep in our territory which led to a third quick TD. 28 point swing in a couple of minutes.
