Gundy

Dec 4, 2012, 10:50 AM

Leading man for the UT job per coaching search.

it's an interesting situation out here.....

Dec 4, 2012, 10:54 AM

Gundy is an OKST grade, but he doesn't get along with Holder (AD).

I don't think he leaves, but I could see it... very interesting.

There will be some very upset OKST fans if he leaves.

"I've been working since I was 15 continually until now. I worked 40 hours a week at 15, when it wasn't even legal for 15 year olds to work that many hours."

Get T Boone on the phone.

Dec 4, 2012, 10:57 AM

He'll handle that situation in about half a second.

the word from big OKST guys is that

Holder would be gone as soon as T. Boone is

Yeah but plenty of coaches leave alma maters but the situation with the AD could be interesting and he's done all he can do their imo.

Why would Gundy leave OSU for Tennessee.....

Dec 4, 2012, 11:00 AM

He is an OSU alum and he just signed an 8 year contract extension in January that pays him nearly $4 million annually and includes a $3 million buyout.

At the time, he specifically said that he hoped to coach at his alma mater until he retires.

"I would prefer to be here for a long, long time and hopefully the powers (that) be will make that decision for me," Gundy said. "I really enjoy the people here, I enjoy the situation. We've obviously gotten to a level here that has not ever been accomplished."

"I think one of the key factors is from day one, my commitment to Oklahoma State has never wavered -- not one inch," he said. "And I think that is a huge factor in recruiting, I think it's a huge factor in the coaching staff and everybody involved."

Also, Gundy and his wife have three sons and their extended family lives in the area.

Stranger things have happened but I just don't see him leaving Stillwater (ever).

I absolutely agree.....

Dec 4, 2012, 11:02 AM

I don't see it....

but there is a rift between him and Holder, and a lot of the media out here have picked up on it lately

Unless Holder is somehow protected by T. Boone....

Dec 4, 2012, 11:06 AM

I think they'd dismiss Holder before they ever allowed Gundy to leave.

yes...

Dec 4, 2012, 11:11 AM

OKST boosters I've talked to seem to think that is the case
