Georgia wining the sec title would be worse case scenario.

You’d have Alabama LSU with one loss then a one loss Georgia who is sec champs. My guess would be whoever loses the Alabama/LSU game would still get left out.

What I would love to see is UGA lose to Auburn and then still win the SEC title game.
Then you have a 2 loss SEC champ.
Along with this scenario I would like a 13-0 Clemson, 13-0 or 12-1 Ohio St, 12-1 Oklahoma, and 12-1 PAC12 champ.
The media would be squirming in their chairs trying to rationalize an SEC team getting into the playoff.
4 1 or no loss conference champions versus 2 loss SEC champ and 2 1 loss finishers with no title.
Either the SEC would get left out or the entire nation would revolt against the current setup.

in (at least) one of the 1-loss SEC teams, and leave out the SEC Champion. They have done this same thing in previous years, only it was the Big 10 Champ Penn State that got left out in favor of 0310 State.

But Penn State didn't beat OSU that season.
With the SEC championship it eliminates one of the options by head to head.

They did beat Ohio State that year which is how they reached the B10 title game over Ohio State. Penn State had 2 losses though including a loss to Pitt, and a 49-10 loss to Michigan.

In the playoff instead of Bama or LSU? Sounds like best case to me.

remaining question would be which excuse they would pull out of the hat. Tired from SEC schedule, or didn't want to be there? At least the second one would be true, I guarantee they won't want to be there when it is all over!

Don’t see it happening. I have watched several UGA, Alabama and LSU games and UGA has really not played well. Florida is not that good. They barely beat a very bad Miami team and barely beats a very bad coot team. And UGAs signature win is over an average ND team.
Of course any team can have a bad or abnormally good game.

Would be easy. Leave them all out. Any team that loses to the coots and wins their conference has no business in the playoffs. If George is the best that got then leave them at home.
