From ESPN ACC College Football Preview a factoid:

Aug 21, 2013, 7:44 PM

It may be old news to many, but the ACC is second ONLY to the SEC in the number of players being chosen in the NFL draft over.....well, I didn't catch the time frame. A decade? SEC was about 370 and the ACC was about 330, in that period. PAC and Bigs were low 300s and below.

So, given the talent, and the fact that the majority of those recruited probably come from 4 or 5 teams, it's not unrealistic to expect better out of conference play that leads to better rankings. I feel very good about us and FSU. VT probably has sent its share to the league. This year may prove Miami is back. But I wonder about some of the others like UNC and GT that do send a fair number of players off but never seem to build powerful teams - lately that is.

Who's data are they using? A couple years the ACC put out a release touting all the players in the NFL but they counted a lot from Miami and VT that played in the Big East. But still the ACC doesn't get the crediti it is due.

Problem is coaching. Clemson and FSU have good coaches. But, Beamer is flaming out and Paul Johnson is a fraud
