why did tommy beat the Coots?

Oct 28, 2013, 12:44 PM

because our teams weren't as good either.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yea...

Oct 28, 2013, 12:45 PM

But the coots were AWFUL.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Every coach in our history beat them up. Not just Tommy.***

Oct 28, 2013, 12:47 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

except one......there is NOTHING that can........

Oct 28, 2013, 12:51 PM

justify the 0-4 drought, possibly 0-5, clemson has had vs the gamecocks.

they are better
WE are better, or so we think

our recruiting has been very close

NOTHING justifies them beating us by DOUBLE DIGITS each of the last 4 years

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Maybe if he's around 10 more years, he can win 10

Oct 28, 2013, 12:52 PM

straight and he'll be on track with the others!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You mean 1-4 right?***

Oct 28, 2013, 12:56 PM [ in reply to except one......there is NOTHING that can........ ]

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

no, i mean 4 games zero wins = DROUGHT***

Oct 28, 2013, 12:58 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Except for that one win, yes you are correct.***

Oct 28, 2013, 1:34 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

no, if that ONE win was in the middle of the 4 losses.......

Oct 28, 2013, 1:46 PM

it wouldn't be a 4-game "drought"

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sorry, you said 0-4 in reference to dabos record vs. USC.

Oct 28, 2013, 1:58 PM

Perhaps then, if you were not referring to his ACTUAL record, you should have not phrased it as "0-4" but instead as a 4-loss streak

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

nope....wasn't referencing dabo's record........

Oct 28, 2013, 2:08 PM

was referencing is 0-4 drought.....or his 4-loss streak........or his 0for4 in the last 4 years.............i figured "drought" summed it up best

but i'll glady give him credit for 1 & 4 vs South Carolina.........job well done...........if he wins this year i'll give him 2 & 4............a loss puts him at 1 & 5 and a "5-loss streak"

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Got it... much more descriptive that way.***

Oct 28, 2013, 2:13 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

he's using the coots 4 yr. window. depending on the outcome

Oct 28, 2013, 1:01 PM [ in reply to You mean 1-4 right?*** ]

of this yr. they will decide if it is expanded to 5, or if 1 win by us is just a hiccup on their current streak.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Coot history only goes back 4 years.***

Oct 28, 2013, 1:34 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Frank Howard had a losing record vs the coots***

Oct 28, 2013, 2:12 PM [ in reply to Every coach in our history beat them up. Not just Tommy.*** ]

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's because of 100 years of pure suck.***

There's something in these hills.

Re: why did tommy beat the Coots? Lou was a big reason

Oct 28, 2013, 12:52 PM

he was washed up by then.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-74tiger.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Of course, they did win their biggest 2 bowl games ever with

Oct 28, 2013, 12:53 PM

Lou as coach.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The Chickens were a weaker program back then

Oct 28, 2013, 12:56 PM

in every area: facilities, recruiting, talent, defensively, everykindofway. Spurrier has raised their profile immensely, and though i cannot stand the guy, there is no denying the Chicken teams TB whipped were nowhere near the talent level that they run out there these days, especially at the RB, QB, and defensive positions.

Rod Gardner's "push off" helped one year***

I don't have a good feeling about this year, Shaw can run

Oct 28, 2013, 1:01 PM

their offense good enough. With the way we've been playing, we won't beat many teams anyway. My biggest concern is that we can't run the ball, and that's how you beat them.

Look at what Ellington and Hopkins are doing in the NFL. Any team will be impacted losing two studs like that. The two true freshman we needed to step up this year both got hurt in camp, and it hurt. We'll be fine if Kelly or Watson are all they were built up to be.

Oct 28, 2013, 1:02 PM

Lou Holtz led those Chickenlina teams to Outback Bowls
and other bowl games. If they were good enough for that
then those victories against them shall be appreciated.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Coots are much much better than in the past.***

Oct 28, 2013, 1:32 PM

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

To get to the other side........ or something like that?

Oct 28, 2013, 2:16 PM

I can't remember exactly how it goes.
