For the coots and SEC homers:

Jun 28, 2019, 6:44 PM

Since some coots on here keep saying that the SEC is elite, and use the recruiting and NFL draft as proof...here are some numbers of interest that have to do with recruiting:

In the last ten years (2010 - 2019), here is the average 247 composite for the recruiting ratings:

Alabama - 1.7
Dawgs - 6.5
LSU - 7.2
Fla - 9.4
Clemson - 14.1
Coots - 20.6

Now look at those numbers...if recruiting was the say all in who has the best conference, then how could you explain Clemson going to 4 CFP's? How could you explain LSU never making the playoffs? How could you explain the Dawgs only making it once? How could the coots be so dismal the last few years? How could Clemson be 2-2 against the bleeding tide in the playoffs, and 2-1 in championship games? As far as the rest of the conference goes, it only moves the SEC recruiting up, so how does the total win loss for the last five years show a 28-26 lead by the ACC?

So, if you want to compare conferences, the win- loss record of each other is really the only thing that matters!

You forgot your SEC homer logic. The mighty sec teams beat up each other so much that only one or 2 can limp into the playoffs.

Where can you find a breakdown of conference pros after three or more years in the pros? It’s one thing to be drafted, but different to see who is actually playing after a few years. I have no clue where to find this.

And for those that say the schedule is important to look at and compare how the out of conference schedule looks, over the last 10 years, Clemson has played 17 power 5 teams during the regular season, Alabama has played 10! Other than Clemson, Carolina played UNC twice and NC St once! Clemson's P5 outside the conference were ALL SEC teams, going 10-7. that is 5-2 against Auburn, Texas A&M, and Georgia...three of the better teams in the SEC.
