Someone with his contact info should make sure he gets this? I for one think Dabo would fall on the sword for kid and say he was young and it was an emotional time. I think he can come back if he does it by the bye week.

Doesn’t he have to be an enrolled student at Clemson? Anybody know anything about his academic status as a grad student?

Why should he come back and sit on the bench just so he can please a bunch of old farts?

He has one more year of eligibility left and he wants to play.

I don’t agree with the “slap in the face” comments but don’t blame him for transferring.

Carter brings up an under appreciated point. The relationship with alumni and his success in his career after football is much easier as a beloved former Clemson QB. Especially considering he is from the upstate of SC and may wish to make his mone there. That is tainted a bit now.

That’s a lifetime decision, versus one more year playing college football for a team somewhere which undoubtedly will not be one of the elite CFP contenders.

Kelly’s choice. I’ll respect it.

Much like Tajh Boyd that makes money at Clemson because he is who he is.

How is leaving the team better than sitting on the bench?

It may be an impossibility at this point but rejoining the team for the rest of the season - with an agreement that he not play - still allows him to transfer. In the worst case scenario that Lawrence sustains a serious injury, it would give him the opportunity to retake the starting spot and lead us to the playoffs. I don’t see him getting a better platform to advertise his ability for the NFL than that.

He's not being "blamed."

It's just a wise and considered opinion.

He has ZERO chance of being in the NFL no matter how much his friends and family want to keep shoveling that to him. He should have stayed and been somewhat of a hero here and reap the benefits of that in the future either as some coach or just in the business world. His career has been at Clemson. He grew up around here. To me it’s insane to transfer to some mediocre school for a year and disappear into oblivion.

it's not his friends and family as much as

these idiot wannabe agents. They tell kids who can't even make the scout team they are sure to be drafted. Yes I know they aren't supposed to be talking to agents and vice-versa but still goes on some places through indirect channels at the very least.

When you throw hand grenades all over the place, trash the staff and bite the hand that fed you there ain't no road back! He made his bed now he has to lie in it however hard it is.

You must not be too familiar with the tenets of the Christian faith that Dabo leans so heavily on for guidance. Forgiveness is kind of a big one. I would have no problems with him coming back. Maybe he runs a few bleachers but ultimately it would be up to the team to decide.

Do not doubt my faith sir. Dabo showed the tenets of his his faith with his comments, but he also said "It's time to move on".
