Clemson students brave the elements for UNC tickets
The lawn at Littlejohn looks less like the outside of a basketball arena and more like a campground as Clemson students have been setting up tents outside the Coliseum in hopes of getting tickets for Wednesday’s game against the University of North Carolina. Full Story » |

80% are fairweather fans.

When I was at school, I attended every single home game except the Duke and UNC games because all the fairweather camped out for those seats.
My fiancée and I remember being one of probably 50-200 students at the early games.
Clemson needs to have a good reward/priority system for those who actually attend most of the games.

Absolutely... if we lose to carolina, after the duke game it will be so easy to get into bball games, no need to camp out

They gave out ticket vouchers for the Duke game before Christmas break...so camping out won't really get you a ticket.

Sorry If I Dont Feel Bad For The Students But

As a student camping out for tickets was something I did several times a year and I didn't have 20 other people to share the time with.
Sleeping around the base of the library was a regular event. If you were "lucky" the wind would blow the mist from the reflection pond fountains and you had to deal with that too.
Yes I camped for football, basketball and bowl tickets too.
I can say after many years that I fondly remember the time freezing my butt off for tickets. It was great fun and I have no regrets.

I may go and kick Rapoport out of the line

“Our tent has been out here since Sunday night, and you just do the shift thing,” Rapoport said. “Just come and spend a few hours and hang out and do some homework. But if you get tickets, you are getting a chance to see UNC play, which will probably win another national championship, if not this year then next year, and Clemson."
I'm glad that he even mentioned our team after he got a hard on talking about seeing UNC play.

I remember very vividly in 2004 (Purnell's first year)

I was able to walk up to the Littlejohn box office ten minutes before tip off with some friends. Our options for tickets was upper arena or floor. We did a double-look and confirmed that floor meant what it sounded like. Sure enough, we were able to get floor tickets right behind the cheerleaders. We wound up beating a ranked UNC team that year which featured Sean May, Rashard McCants, and Ray Felton and wound up winning the national title next year.
This year requires camp-outs on the Littlejohn lawn just to get into the building.
Man, how times have changed... Thanks O.P. for changing the culture of Clemson basketball!
