First Tiger Bkball team to finish with win in 70 Years!...

Mar 17, 2020, 12:18 PM

Since 1950 Tigers finished season on 3 game winning streak and missed out on the Southern Conference Tournament.

Another meaningless talking point for the judge to add to his list.
Like talking up how BB is the winningest coach in Clemson history. But always failing to mention that he is also the losingist coach in Clemson history.
Which actually means he's a mediocre coach. But he's been here a long time.

I’m not sure why some of you use it against Brad that he’s been here

longer than most. It says something that he’s good enough to keep his job, and also loves Clemson enough to stay. In case you forgot, that isn’t exactly a common combination in Clemson basketball history.

Let’s look at our last few coaches and their fates:

Oliver Purnell: bailed on Clemson
Larry Shyatt: fired
Rick Barnes: bailed on Clemson
Cliff Ellis: cheated and was ultimately fired

Our fans should be thankful that Brad has done well, is improving things, and loves Clemson enough to stay.

"Everybody needs to know that Coach Brownell is arguably the best coach to come through Clemson." -PJ Hall

How many major college basketball teams have finished the season with a win in the last 70 years?
Probably around 70, whoever won the madness.

X 2. Or even 3.

NIT winner.

Of course, cynics call the NIT winner "The 69th best team in America."

And for many years, at least up through 1977 or so, March Madness also had a consolation game, so there was a 3rd place team who won their final game as well.
