Lives Matter rally

Mar 25, 2018, 10:21 PM

Has anyone told TheRump that the Lives Matter rally had a bigger crowd than his innauguration?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Trump's innauguration was the largest gathering of humans...

Mar 25, 2018, 10:29 PM

ever.

Washington DC

Good point! My bad. LOL

Can’t believe so many people matched

Mar 25, 2018, 10:31 PM

To have their rights taken away.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Probably very few people there were marching to repeal....

Mar 25, 2018, 10:35 PM

the 2nd amendment.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

A bull#### right that few people exercise.

A right that's a massive liability.

What you said is a cute soundbite, but it's not a real argument.

You guys should make that your platform

Mar 25, 2018, 11:37 PM

Cool, is this a thing now? can we repeal the bull #### ones?

Mar 26, 2018, 10:48 AM [ in reply to A bull#### right that few people exercise. ]

because I have a list.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

"Few"

Mar 27, 2018, 10:22 AM [ in reply to A bull#### right that few people exercise. ]

Roughly 513k concealed carrys in NC alone. This does not include gun owners as a whole. There are approximately 3 million gun owners in NC alone.

Nice try, but stick to cars.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-clemsonrulez08.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Please forgive me, @IneligibleUser

Fewer than 1/3 of Americans own a gun.

Mar 27, 2018, 5:15 PM

And 3% of the population owns 50% of the guns.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don’t think I know anyone who doesn’t have a gun

Mar 27, 2018, 10:22 PM

Weird.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Mar 27, 2018, 11:22 PM

Weird.

But not weird actually, because that's not how statistics work. It's not anecdotal.

Re: "Few"

Mar 28, 2018, 6:22 PM [ in reply to "Few" ]

I have lived in NC for close to 50 years and I know quite a few people. I only know one person who has a concealed carry license. And, most people that I normally socialize with do not own a gun.
Your numbers seem very high. What's your source? I wouldn't trust NRA data. (The NRA has been known to exaggerate, and to lie. Their sole purpose is to scare people into buying more guns.)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Cmon, that just sounds ridiculous.

Mar 27, 2018, 10:38 PM [ in reply to A bull#### right that few people exercise. ]

You don’t really get to cherrypick rights. The constitution is bigger than that.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well what about our 3rd Amendment rights?

Mar 27, 2018, 11:24 PM

Try to reply without looking it up.

And the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are two different things.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

now you’re just getting in the weeds.

Mar 28, 2018, 12:13 PM

Yes, many of us know about not having to shelter soldiers in our house without looking it up. What’s your point? That it’s archaic? Have times changed to the point that we are ok with our house becoming a barracks against our will, or are you making the same point many do with the 2nd, that because it’s beyond their ability to envision a scenario where it is needed, it is now obsolete?

And I don’t know if that last line was an attempt at an academic Nyah-Nyah, but yes the bill of rights (and every other amendment for that matter) are absolutely part and parcel of the Constitution. What do you think is being “amended”?

Why are we comparing the crowds again?

Mar 25, 2018, 11:36 PM

I thought this "March For Our Lives" thing was non-partisan, right? Or are you comparing the crowd sizes because you actually think it's a left-wing thing, since it was organized by left-wing groups that have nothing to do with gun violence?

"It looked like a million-and-a-half people ... it went all the way back to the Washington Monument," Mr Trump said, adding that the media had been caught out and would "pay a big price".

I just thought it would be fun for someone to provoke (small-minded) TheRump into telling more obvious lies.
It would be funny, if it wasn't so sad to have such a stupid man thinking he can run the US.
But, his days are counting down. He will be impeached in Feb of 2019 -- unless the GOPers find backbones (then it would be sooner). But we know the GOPers won't buck TheRump -- no morals exist in the GOP house members.
