Is Ray Ray the new punt return man?

May 11, 2017, 11:39 PM

Like Scott, with seniority and some experience. Outstanding athlete, fast runner but slippery hands.
That's why we all know Scott returned for us after Ray Ray got his chances. The drop at the goal line just added to it. Listen, I think He can do it. With some practice this summer and fall catching high floaters or line drives, he could be a secure point of possession for the Tigers this year.

Has Ray Ray grown as a man, grown as FB player? As Dabo mentioned early last season " it is a maturity issue " in some aspects. Is he a better ball handler now to return kickoff's?

I hope the best for him to compete. However, wouldn't mind seeing Feaster in the return game also.

Just my take

If he can just catch the ball he would be the best in the country.

Would love to see him and Feaster back on kickoffs but let's let Renfrow back up on punts. Pretty sure handed, and there will be more fair catch opportunities than run backs on punts.

Ray Ray is a very talented return man but the risk reward

factor has to be considered. It isn't just the hands but also decision making and making sure his body is in the correct position to minimize chances of drops. I'm not letting a guy back there that will put the ball on the ground deep in our territory. I trust our coaches that they have coached him to eliminate these problems.....we'll see. BTW who is our punt return coach?

Probably gonna be Renfrow. Dabo has always just played

it safe on those types of responsibilities. Catching it is the key. Fumbling a punt can ruin a game.

I would say he is the guy by default. If he struggles I wouldn't be surprised to see us go to feaster. Also wouldn't be surprised to see Renfrow back there by year end
