Favorite football player from the state of sc that didn’t go to Clemson but you enjoyed watching?

Feb 19, 2019, 4:50 PM

Mine was either Dee Feaster that went to Northwestern and Stephen Davis from Sumter Zimmerman from Marlboro County or Stan Manning from Dillon. I think I saw all these players play in high school. Does anyone else remember these or had the privilege of seeing them play? Thanks.

Also a shout out to Parade HS All-American QB from Summerville, Perry Cuda. Alabama paid him well to attend , but rarely got off the bench. However, as a 6th grade boy, who lived 10 houses down, when he got in I cheered wildly for him.

Mine would have to be a hometown kid named Clarence Kay from Seneca. He played TE at UGA, then 9 years for the Denver Broncos.

I would have to say Stanford Jennings. He and I graduated high school together. He went to Furman then on to the Bengals. His brother Keith played for Clemson. A sweet guy and a gentleman.
Also, AJ Green. He was my niece's super senior when the football team came to her elementary school. She thought he hung the moon. I was friends with his coach Louis Mulkey, who helped him get to Georgia. Louis thought AJ hung the moon too.

Orangeburg & Gregg Jones from Beaufort both went to FSU & were there at the same time. Either one at Clemson would have been huge. We had a pipeline to Orangeburg at the time w Woody, Jackie Robinson, & Ryan Hemby. Jones just ran over us in 2002. He was a load. Also, Ovie Mughelli from Charleston that was Fullback for Wake. He loved to hit people. Would have Loved him blocking for Chad Jasmine.

named Tron Jackson who was extremely fast; won the state
100 meters. He decided to go be Herschel Walker's decoy
at UGA. Thought he could have been another Warren Ratchford
10 miles down the road at Clemson.

Btw, Stephen Davis was from Spartanburg

Kent Lawrence went to Georgia.

I believe he lived close to Clemson. I remember him as a good punt returner.
