Sports related, in that NUK said he had Indian Blood, and I like Indians & their neat names.

Recently I was looking at a Custer’s Last Stand video which showed the exact spot, with a small headstone, where each of his Calvary fell & died.

Then..for the first time, to my knowledge, the video showed the names of the many Braves & Warriors that were killed..and I was fascinated with their pure & nature-like names..many I’d never heard.

Here are some:

Full Hand, Limber Bones, Bloody Knife, Boy Chief, Bull In The Water, Pretty Face, Goose, Lying Down, One Feather, Curly Head, Black Porcupine, Bear’s Eye, Left Hand, Owl..

Flat Hip, Spunker, Scabby Head, Stunk Guts, The Chief, Looks White, Man on Top, Poor Hog, Wounded Lice, Face Turner, Big Eater, Wrinkler, American Man, Pretty Legs, Roman Nose..

Bad Hand, Love Man, Spider, Bonnet, Noisy Walking, Knife, Cap, Pretends Eagle, Round Fool, Fine Weather, Face Turner, White Eye Brows, Red Star, etc.

Sure beats those boring English names like William Willis!

We just don't think about what our names mean, Billy Boy.

But of all people you should know William means "Adamant Protector" which sounds pretty cool to me.

Very interesting. I would have to question some of those names however. I wonder how many Romans these Indian tribes knew. If they named a child Roman Nose they must have traveled a lot!
