The way the Chickens look at it he is correct. There are @230 schools playing Division I football ( BCS and FCS ). If they finish in the top 25 in recruiting they can claim to have one of the best recruiting classes. If you're a Chicken you must search for whatever positives you can find and crow about it even though everyone else is laughing at you.

I may be naive or perhaps too kind. However, I truly believe that a simple majority of their fan base knows (and will admit) that they are getting their butts handed to them in all phases of football. At least by their in-state superior.

My wife's family are all big South Carolina fans, and they know their current situation. They have spoken before our game with them the last 3 years in terms of "maybe we'll make it a game with you past halftime." I think it's harder to not admit the truth when you're speaking to people face to face though.
