Someone explain to me how Oregon would jump FSU in the final rankings to go to the BCS Champ for any other reason than media pushing for the Bama-Oregon matchup. Here's my take.
Calling unranked wins a wash because both teams have blown them out. Assuming both teams with their next big games vs. the U and Stanford, here is a comparison on signature wins (including margin of victory):
Oregon:

#16 Washington - W by 21 points
#12 UCLA - W by 28 points
#5 Stanford - W by ____
FSU:
________
#25 Maryland - W by 63 points/shutout
#3 Clemson - W by 37 point
#7 Miami - W by ____
Comparison of Wins

#16 Washington win is > overrated #25 Maryland shutout
#7 Miami W > #12 UCLA (IMO, yet to be seen)
#3 Clemson W > #5 (1-loss) Stanford (IMO, yet to be seen)
I think FSU should land and stay in the #2 spot after these two games, they've looked the most complete team in the country. Thoughts?

I'm with you. If Florida State wins out they will play Alabama for the National Championship. The caliber of their wins, and the margin of victory, is far superior to Oregon. And remember, this is the last year of the BCS Computer so the media has much less ability to affect the selection process from here on in than they will next year. I believe Florida State is the best team in the country and will beat Alabama by at least 14 and maybe 21. The Seminoles aren't 37 points better than Clemson. If we played them 10 times we'd win 3 of the 10. The good news is, we're both credible in the national picture which can't be anything but good for the ACC. Go Tigers!

When Oregon offense is rolling, they are so tough to stop. I honestly have no idea who is the best of the three. I was very impressed by FSU. Bama looks vulnerable but their defense has played lights out. Perfect year for the playoff system. Those are for sure the top 3 teams. Now for #4? Thats going to be the debate. Stanford is pretty much Alabama Jr. Baylor is Clemson Jr. Ohio State to me does not deserve to be in the conversation due to their schedule.

I'd love to see OU play FSU. They seem to be the best wo teams to me and that would be a heckuva game. I don't think Bama is any better than either of these teams.
