Excuses at SEC Media Days

My biggest takeaway from the SEC Media Days was the lame excuses offered up by Nick Saban and Hugh Freeze. Saban not-so-subtly suggested that a major factor in their loss to Ohio St was because too many of his players were thinking ahead about their draft stock. Meanwhile, Hugh Freeze said that THE major factor in their massacre at the hands of TCU was a loss of team chemistry. He even said that TCU "had a little to do with it" in relation to the result of the game. I'm sorry, when you get beat by 6 scores, your opponent had a lot more than just a little to do with it.

I was interested to see what some of these coaches would say following their disappointing ends to the season. Not surprisingly, the excuses were flying around like moths on a street light.

They are the best conference when they play their own conference, or bottom feeder teams in other conferences.
