Everytime I read about our depth chart

Jul 24, 2014, 10:46 AM

it reminds me we are still the least settled with the O line and especially RT. Makes me nervous.

Saying Howard is now and will likely be starting RB means little. I agree with the writer than since we will be running by committee, the #2 or #3 guy may get almost as many snaps. But it's not like we have a lot of options right now for the O line, especially in game one with some being held out.

I think Gore played very well in the spring game. Giff was nothing but a liability in pass pro last year.

RT has been an issue for awhile except for a few games

Jul 24, 2014, 10:54 AM

where Battle locked it down or when Thomas moved up and locked it down.

We have 3 starters back and it sounds like Davis is finally ready to be a solid starter so hopefully he can lock down that RG spot vacated by Shatley.

At RT there are a lot of possible answers between Gore/Anthony/McLain and even Davis.

There is solid interior depth with Crowder and Guillermo. Also have Webster for depth.

My only worry about Mac Lain is he has been moved around

Jul 24, 2014, 12:20 PM

so much he might be more of a versatile jack of all trades but not really be great at any one position, especially RT.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes, and it seems like with the numbers at G vs the numbers

Jul 24, 2014, 2:14 PM

at OT, that either he or Davis would just MOVE and stay.

As things stand now with Davis and him at OG, I only see 3 viable OTs and like 7 guards (talking guys who can contribute, not guys who are looking like bench warmers this year)

Help me out with a predicted depth chart for the first game

Jul 24, 2014, 11:21 AM

LT - Battle / Gore?

LG - Crowder? / MacLain?

C - Norton / Guillermo

RG - Davis / Webster?

RT - Gore? / MacLain?

Does that look about right? Anyone I'm missing that should be noted on there?

Thats looks right heres mine in I was the head sob. Battle. Jay G. Norton. Crowder. Davis. Left to right.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

For some reason, i want to say Guillermo and occassionally

Norton will play LG or RG when the other is in the center to help rotations

how many actual starts do these guys have at these projected positions? Norton is the only returning starter on the oline it appears.

SUPERPUPPY OUT OF TIMEOUT I SEE READY TO TALK ABOUT HIS THUGS.

You might be correct about that, I don't know, but the facts

Jul 25, 2014, 4:23 PM [ in reply to Re: Help me out with a predicted depth chart for the first game ]

remain that the highlights of the Georgia-Clem game will consist primarily of breakdowns in the Georgian pocket & lack of running game.

MARK MY WORDS, MUTT BREAF

I think you'll see norton/guillermo at G before maclain

Something tells me that MacLain will be a starter and will

Jul 24, 2014, 2:17 PM [ in reply to Help me out with a predicted depth chart for the first game ]

be one of our 3 or 4 best, it's just a question of where he lands. It would be nice if he lands there early August rather than landing somewhere a few days before UGA........

Jul 24, 2014, 1:58 PM

How are we gonna do with our Peters out.
