So, I finish up runnin with my coot buddy tonight by getting

up and down the steps about 20 times. While I am doing that, I am listening on my ear buds to Lakeside( That station, channel or whatever it is on Pandora plays all the funk I like to hear while making myself run)....Anyway,I finish running and walk over to my coot buddy, hand him an earbud and ask,"Who's that coot?". Well, sometimes I just give the little clucker too much credit. So, I look over and see 4 young African Americans and I hold up an earbud to one of them and say,"Tell this coot who this band is...."...and he says,"Oh yeah, that's one of those old groups..but I can't think just who they are.."...
Sometimes....you just get smacked in the face with the fact that you are getting old....

Spud,i look at how long we've lived and consider it a privilege.think about how many people are taken at a much younger time in their lives?i think about how fortunate we are in so many ways and try to enjoy every day no matter what.

July the 4th, after having been fragged by a bomb that morning. Anyway, he surived and returned home, and like yourself, enjoyed every day of the rest of his life. In the movie, Saving Private Ryan, Ryan is told by the soldier who lost his own life in coming to save Ryan...to "Go and earn this"... I think most of the Vets from that era did just that....
