Ever wonder ?

In decades of advances in football equipment, no one has ever thought of changing the color of the football ? .. well, except for Nerf, but they don't count.

Heck, Boise even changed the color of the turf.

But 130 years later, still the same ol' brown football.

This is actually an interesting concept. What color makes the football more visible to the player and TV audience? How do we avoid camouflage with team uniforms? Maybe the new and improved XFL will give it a try.

Actually, they did have a black ball with red stripes. Maybe it was considered to gimmicky.

NFL used a white football at times as far back the 1920s. I can remember seeing Otto Graham hi=lites in the 50s using a white fb.
