They're 9-2 also... Look at the runs they've thrown up in 11 games. VA Tech must be for real too. They beat etsu in mid week game 10-3... Just FYI

But their height-challenged fans are malodorous.

It’s baseball those kind of teams beat the big boys sometimes, it’s not a big deal every now and then . They may win a lot of their Conf games but they have no shot completing with ACC or SEC teams on a regular. We should have won that game , we had a bad night. So flush it !

Some of you made jokes, some of you missed the point entirety. Flush it??? Wth? That totally missed the boat. It's baseball, it happens, totally missed the point of the post. It's not a negative post, just the opposite.
Ask the baseball aficionados on the board. I bet they got the post. Two points, we lost to a much more quality team that can hit the ball... Ala coastal a couple years back. Not realized at the time. Second, VA Tech beat them 10-3, meaning VA Tech might be siffer comp in the ACC than originally thought.

K2, I read you correctly and bet some others did too. I didn’t comment, but got the point. ETSU was less than a “negative” loss, per say and watch out for the Turkeys!

ETSU baseball is not for real and Neither is VT. Why try to justify us losing to them , we got beat by an inferior team. That’s the bottom line of the story

This is meant as an affirmation of your post, kerrigan, but I don't know if you'll take it as such.
The difference between big-time programs and next-line programs in baseball is depth. Primarily pitching depth.
The major schools primarily throw their best 3 starters on weekend games. The mid-week games become crap shoots with a lot more offense. However, since Monte has been here, we have a stellar mid-week record, indicating that our #4 pitching set (starter/long relief/short relief) is vastly improved.
Counter that with the fact that some mid-major and small college coaches will find a way to stagger their rotations to get their #1 guy into a mid-week game. They figure a couple big name victories can get you into the postseason via the selection committee and give your team real confidence, even if it means throwing your #4 set in a weekend conference game.
Since conference play hasn't started, I have no idea if ETSU did that. I know they didn't beat one of our top 3. But they scored more runs against our staff than a good Liberty team did in a 3-game series. So that's impressive.

Thanks. I appreciate that. Wonderful discussion and very constructive. I like to learn and don't mind being told I'm wrong. I'm wrong a lot... Just don't have to get snarky.
I really really want this to be a great baseball team. Growing up with Wilhelm, I'm used to enjoying Clemson baseball!
