Either gain weight or change the philosophy

Defenses miscues are clearly documented. Terrible angles. Missed tackles. Missed assignments.
But one thing really sticks out:
WE ARE WAAAAAY TO SMALL UP FRONT.
I really don't care what's listed, I've watched enough CFB in the past 20+ years to know when numbers just don't look right. Our interior DL don't have enough girth.
Williams is probably 6'1 280 Jarrett is probably 6'0 265
Furman probably has bigger interior lineman.
When's the last time Jarrett's name's been called?
The point is they DON'T demand a double team, leaving OL crushing our smaller LB's (SAnthony in particular since he's the MLB).
Impossible to do now, but these guys need to be 310-320 STOP GAPS. They are anything but, and have thoroughly underachieved.
I was against moving Maybank to OL (and would have liked to see Region on the DL) b/c of lack of size.
My solution:
-Watson in for Jarrett -put 30+ pounds on Williams-Jarrett...even Reader/Watkins needs 15-20+
or
-just change philosophy and go to a a 3-5-4. Beasely is a DE/OLB hybrid who can drop in coverage. We just cannot keeping embarassed on D.
2 Defensive Coordinator's later, same ole problems.

That's a great plan. Bulk up or go for 3-5-4 (12 players on

the field). Think the refs may start to notice after a few plays though.

and he is 6'0 in socks and a second year starter that almost no offers out of HS.
But I happen to think jarret is a heck of a player that will be very disruptive despite his measurables.

Pretty sure that's on BV's mind. The line is really young for that position. Our 'senior' players are redshirt sophomores. They should be backups still in the weight room. This is where the lost class of 09 is killing us.

Dude, Reader is 6-3 335, per the coaches. He doesn't

need to be 355, more like 320 if he wants to last more than 20 plays a game.
Your "vision" of how much these guys weigh is "way" off.

Once Nkemdiche and Montravius come on board, they won't know who to double-team.
We've got we got for now. They guys play hard and will continue to get better.
I believe the defensive scheme is fine and we got stops yesterday when we really needed them.
I won't lie a couple of times yesterday I thought, "here we go again", but the defense came through and the offense kept doing what it does.
GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

play with 12..thats the best scheme I think anyone can run. If we can find a way to do it w/out getting flagged..im all for it! lol
seriously, if you have watched as much CFB the last twenty years as you claim then you would know that when playing an odd front, impaticularly 3 down lineman front, then the DL are even bigger...to fit the scheme. so saying when are too small and then saying we need to go to a 3 man down scheme doesnt make since.
If watching football for 20 years qualifies US to challenge what REAL footbasll coaches are doing...then there wer prolly 70,000 qualified defensive coordinators in death valley yesterday...CMON MAN

Why stop there? Go to a 5-5-6. Great versus run and pass***
