Early Prediction: Chad Morris will be Texas HC in 3 Years
Sep 6, 2015, 10:43 AM
|
|
If he turns around SMU based on the way they looked like after playing Baylor great for 3 qtrs before the depth took over and Texas continues to look like what was just displayed last night against Notre Dame Charlie Strong will not be there long. That program makes too much money and has access to unlimited talent to needs 3-4 years yo rebuild.
Morris is a Texas guy and has a fantastic rapport with the Texas High School coaches from what I can see.
Agree or Disagree?

Seems plausible. I wouldn't throw Charlie Strong to the wayside yet though. He's a good coach.

Already have CS on the hot seat and CM in the Governor of Texas seat. A lot can happen in 3 years.

Morris is a TA&MU guy. I think Texas will go for the big national hire. Strong is a very good assistant coach, but is not a proven championship winning national coach. I think Texas will throw a lot of money at a nationally recognized head coach.

I don't totally agree,or disagree. One game does not make a season. Charlie is going to have to prove he belongs real quick, but so does Chad.

Would you hire a Coot grad as Clemson HC?

Because what you are suggesting is the equivalent.

I live in the Austin Texas area and I agree with you. Aggies won't look at the burnt orange color. Many buy maroon colored cars and clothes.

Yeah, could be true. Most college coaches can't make that...

successful jump without prior NFL coaching experience. But, Sumlin is a guy NFL teams are eyeing. But, at the same time Kirk Ferentz had the eye of the NFL and I don't think he ever got an offer.

Texas will never hire a Texas A&M alumnus as their head football coach.

Agreed, but I'd cut it to 2 years. I like Strong, but he doesn't seem to be able to pull it all together. I think he gets 1 more season and then they'll hire Chad Morris. Texas is tired of losing.

I'm not sure how much I'd place on the Baylor game. I still say that Baylor's D sucks it badly. Most decent O's will cut thru the Baylor D like a hot knife thru butter. Not trying to take anything away from a great performance by CM and SMU, but I am convinced that BU is nowhere near a real Top Ten team. If they are, I can't see it. CLEMSON would give them a woodshed whooping IMO. The game would be over by the 4th quarter.

I could definitely see that. He inherited a disaster at SMU and they looked much better coached Friday than they did all last year

He would never go near hippie Austin in a thousand lifetimes. Ever.
tU wishes. That will never happen.
Texas A&M is the only job he would take.
