No big surprise there.

He says his priority and first love is baseball so I think the real surprise will be if he elects to remain at Ole Miss rather than playing professional baseball.

That would have been true wherever he committed.

He will play MLB but gets to say he commited to instate school. Easier for his family in social settings

exposure. He can get that at Ole Miss. It's not like you have to play in bowl games and win titles to get noticed by scouts.
