EVEREST

Jun 30, 2015, 8:54 AM

I may be late to the game, but I just saw the trailer for the new EVEREST movie about the May 1996 disaster. I think it uses Krakauer's book as well as the subsequent ones written about the events and deaths.

Here is the trailer:

Side note, it has Keira Knightley so no matter how bad it can be, she will be in it.

Greenr gives this movie 2 Boners up in anticipation.

I'll see it.

As I've said before, I have ZERO desire to climb Everest, but I can't read or watch enough about it.

I saw that trailer before Jurassic World and was wondering if it was based on Into Thin Air. That book is fantastic. If I ever had any desire to climb Everest before reading it, I do not now. I never realized how it's basically just a miserable slog to finally get to the top.

Pretty much all of his books that I've read are so good that I have trouble putting them down. Where Men Win Glory will be my next one.

it's fair share of controversy. Tillman is a hero and what happened to him is tragic. Some of Tillman's family don't like how he presented everything.

I usually like Krakauer's stuff. I liked Into the Wild, but I still ended up not liking that guy, McCandless.

Jacob McCandles, he was not.
