ET to the edge?

I may be completely wrong, or mistaken but why don’t we run him to the edges with his speed? I remember running an option with him last night and him getting some really good yardage. We seem to run him up the gut a lot instead of taking advantage of his speed on the edges with sweeeps and options. Please correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks

We have done very little on the edge all season. The jet sweep is just a motion for us, we rarely give the ball.

A run up the gut. What does that have to do with not seeming to give ET more carries to the edge or outside? Do you think it’s possible ET might break a few long runs if we ran a sweep more often?

He falls for five yards per attempt going up the middle. I think once NC State went up 7 early the OCs were going to do what makes them comfortable and that lean on the QB.

Just give ETN the ball and let him pick the hole. Great runners do that.

With his vision, I truly believe Etienne deserves the #1 spot. Give Feaster a parking spot and he’s gone but Travis is almost guaranteed to make 5 out of nothing every time he touches the ball. I like Travis in between the tackles, Feaster on more flats / screens, C.J. on short-yardage and pass block action and Choice on cleanup duty late in the game.
