As it turns out, on the same day that we'll be battling FSU

Aug 10, 2013, 1:03 PM

for what will essentially be the ACC Atlantic Division Championship, I'm going to be in Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand watching my beloved All Blacks (#1 in the world rugby rankings) take on the Wallabies from Australia (#3 in the rankings).

Here's the question: The Clemson vs FSU game will air on Sunday (local NZ time). If it's at 8:00 pm, it'll be 1:00 pm Sunday. If it's a 3:30 game, it'll be 8:30 am on Sunday. What are my online viewing options while overseas? Any helpful answers out there?

See if you can get FirstRow Sport. Game is at 7:30 pm. If I'm wrong, somebody will correct me.

Sweet! You just going to see the All Blacks?

That's a long, expensive trip to see a match, though I would love to do the same.

I hope they throw down a Haka for the ages.

South Island. It'll be the 3rd Bledisloe Cup match and the last game of the Rugby Championship Series. Should be a great one!

New Zealand is the number one trip on my bucket list of trips. I know a few Kiwis and all are wonderful people. People that have been say it's great!

Also tell stories of wonderful beer and pubs.

I have Comcast cable....

Aug 10, 2013, 1:53 PM

...and I've been in a hotel room (in the U.S.) where I logged into Xfinity and watched a baseball game last year. Not sure all of the limitations and requirements, and I think it is up to Comcast as to which games they allow to be viewed through their service (Xfinity). For example, it may be that the NFL doesn't allow any. NCAA, I have no idea as I always make a TV available for games I want to watch even when not at home. Seems like it is becoming more popular to view live sporting events on non-TV devices, though. Just look at the most recent and annoying Manning brother's video for DirectTV.....

You might check with your cable/satellite/internet provider.

Won't work outside of USA, without a VPN.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

There are services for that

Aug 10, 2013, 2:51 PM

Some are intended as masks, but others may offer VPN service for overseas users. I've seen ads for subscriptions, for example.

The nice part about the VPN services is that some appear to be customer friendly. You don't have to be smart enough to set up your own home VPN in order to use the services. LogMeIn and GoToMyPC advertised a lot not too long ago, and both have been around for 4 or more years so may be reputable.

But if you are expert enough, Windows 7 & 8 allow you to set up VPNs on your home network I think. I've never gone through the motions, so I can't speak as an authority.

ESPN3

Aug 10, 2013, 2:17 PM

More likely than not, the game will air on ESPN3 (www.watchESPN.com). It seems like every ACC game usually does so I would imagine this one will also.

Install this:

Then, add this:

This would even work on an Android phone, that you could connect to a TV.
