Truthfully, ESPN(and other services) don't move players down

very often. What deos happen though, is that they move uncommited players up the rankings in order to create drama and increase hits/subscriptions.

Committing early is a definate hinderance to a players rankings. I can't prove it, but if Mitch Hyatt had not committed last year, and was currently an uncommited prospect, I would wager he would still be ranked as a top 5 prospect by all the major sevices.

ESPN not nearly as bad as SCOUT.

Scout's player rankings puzzle me. The used to be okay but good Lord over the past few years it's gotten worse. Seems like every time we pick up a commit, within a week his ranking drops. Look at scout's top 25 class ranking. ESPN and Rivals both have Clemson at #3, 247 #5...Scout #12.

I take nothing away from Bama's class at all because they are the legit #1 class but on scout.com, if Bama coaches have a loud fart that sounds like a prospects name, they go into the Top 100 and get another star. I don't even look at scout anymore unless I want to look at how bad they stiff guys on their status.
