ESPN Recruiting Rankings

Apparently the CFP committee is also handling the ESPN recruiting rankings. Alabama at 1 with 3 top 50 prospects. Ohio State at 2 with 3 top 50 prospects and Clemson at 3 with 8 top 50 prospects.

"top 50" isn't equal... do you show where each player actually ranked at their position? Do we have the lower ranking position players? I don't know, but just asking.

I haven't looked either but I would guess that it is due to quantity rather than quality.

We have 5 ahead of Alabama’s 3rd and Ohio State’s 3rd. We have the #2 DE, #1 DT, #2 OT, #2 RB, #2 DT, #4 DT, #4 CB, and #4 QB. Bama has #4 DE, #1 QB, and #1 Athlete. OSU has #1 WR, #3 OT, #1 C.

We have highly ranked players by position. Problem here is looking at only one “service”. ESPN at that. I go by the 247 composite.

ESPN doesn't come close to comparing with 247/rivals. Those two are very similar with each other and if anything check 247 composite as that's the overall combination of the players ranking.

It's very obvious ESPN doesn't put nearly the resources into high school football recruiting that 247 and Rivals do. Just ignore them.


247's composite should remove ESPN.
