...mid to late 70s, a bulldozer (or similar, front-end loader, etc) was "placed" in the reflection pond late one night. (LOL) Pretty sure the photo is from the next morning. I know I have it somewhere but cannot seem to locate it. Can anybody post it for me? Thanks in advance.

No pic, but a history lesson

Sometimes I like to think of myself as the tigernet historian so here's the story behind the bulldozer in the reflection pond:
At 11:37 PM on the night of October 2, 1978, a Clemson university student left Johnstone after having quite a bit to drink. In his altered state, he walked over to Brackett Hall which was under renovation at the time. He then started up a Fiat-Allis front-end loader that was parked at the construction site. The student drove the bulldozer past the amphitheater and into the pond where it got stuck. While police were quick to respond, the intoxicated student was able to escape and went unidentified for several years. While the bulldozer was able to be removed, the reflection pond had to be drained after oil leaked into the water.
Several years later in February of 1982, the then alumni responsible for the prank was at Marine boot camp in Camp Lejeune when he decided to write an anonymous letter to the university boasting about the crime. Unfortunately for the student, the university used hand-writing software and was able to identify him as the culprit. He was charged with vandalism in Pickens County.

I assume you're pulling this from a newspaper article about the incident?
All I remember is walking back from downtown, probably Nick's or TTT, and bumping into people who were laughing and talking about it. Naturally we cruised by to see it. Yes, the cops were already there and questioning people about it. But nobody there had seen anything or knew anything about it. Funny how that works...

I asked a question and he provided some input. You're just being a jerkwad.
