we let WV go out west because they were not worthy because of academics. Now we let UL come which has nearly the same academic score. can anyone explain

Swoffie didn't foresee the changing landscape. Regardless, of what some on Tnet think, Louisville was the best football school left that isn't affiliated with a conference.

I got a feeling that Clemson, FSU and VT were instrumental in seeing that this happened. Heck, I'd go as far to say that Duke wasn't far behind. Coach K's comments might have hit home with Swoffie.

Louisville is the best available in terms of football. They have a newly renovated 65k football stadium and will have the 2nd largest athletic budget in conference. This is not a bad move considering what's available.

Try this, better TV foot print! Equal or better competitor than Maryland and WV in both football and basketball. And school definitely puts money in athletics.
Facilities are much better. And school academics is competitive with the SEC :)
