1948 Clemson
Most wins by any team: 11-0; ND & Michigan 9-0
Beat 4 current SEC & 3 current ACC teams

I vote we put a National Champion banner in the ring for 1948. A better claim than many of Alabama, big ten and ND claims. On field performance trumps newspaper selling votes.

A late but proper tribute to the” Bashful Baron of Barlow Bend” and the Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors of the late ‘40’s & early ‘50’s.

Titles to which they have very little claim. An 11-0 team from 1948 has a better claim than a 7-0 Michigan team that didn't play in a bowl game or a Notre Dame team that tied USC and did not play a bowl game.

Clemson played more games and beat Missouri in the Gator Bowl.

That makes number 4 that should go on the wall. Let's have a ceremony fro any surviving members of that team quick!!
