and talk about "successful season" or that we are satisfied.
he and his crowd would GO TO WORK fixing the things we did wrong and get back to blocking and tackling.
we can still win the bowl game and end on a positive note. mind you it isnt going to take that bad fowl taste out of our mouth, but it can go a way toward prepping the right way for next year !!!!
or we can sit and believe that "10 wins = a great season" and let someone else take our a$$e$ to the woodshed.
imho. this team is built too much on cutsie stuff and has been since Tommy Bowden showed up.
we need a bunch of boys that show up at the ball (both defense AND OLine) with bad intentions ...and the strenth and conditioning to back it up !!!
i'm not a dumper or a pumper.
i'm a true believer in - if you aint undefeated, and if you aint beating your hated rival you have a LOT of work to do.
and that starts from the top.
until Dabo believes that as well, you will get what you got Saturday night.
and Spurrier is and will be crowing as long as that is our collective attitude(s).

Danny lost tons of times to teams we should have destroyed.
He was fantastic in big games and bowl games, but check your stats.
1982-9-1-1 team tied unranked BC 17-17
1983- 9-1-1 team lost to unranked BC 31-16
1986- 8-2-2 team lost to unranked Va Tech 20-14
1987- 10-2 team lost to unranked NC State 30-28

i'd bet my next paycheck against yours that you cannot find a SINGLE quote where Danny said those seasons was "great" or "successful".
we were like 30-2-2 during one stretch and he didnt "settle" for 2 losses.

Dabo is a good guy. i'm not saying fire him.
....but we need someone that recruits and coaches bad mofos on both sides of the ball.
Dabo can become "that guy" but he isnt "that guy" today.
if we are all happy with mediocrity and softness, then do the cheer that someone posted earlier.

which is post Ford era. I thought Venables, Caldwell, and Morris would have helped with this, as Dabo brought in the players.
We have talent, curb appeal, all of that jazz. We don't have the "swag" or the physicality to punch someone thug like Clowney right in the jaw, every stinkin play. There are no Kirklands, Simmons, Davis's, Perry's who would rather lose a limb than let a Coot stand in our endzone. Everything in this club is there but that tenacity you have touched on...if we could find a way to have it, I don't think we could be touched.
Like you said, starts at the top. Hopefully he's as pi$$ed off as I am.

especially if he had Morris as OC.
thing is, he probably wouldnt want Morris for OC.
the problem isnt schemes or talent, it is attitude and preperation. Danny's players always said the game was like taking off versus practice.
that my friends is the difference. Danny would see to it that the Coot game this past Saturday was a walk in the park versus practice. did you get that sense from our performance Saturday night? nope. neither did i.
