Basketball questions - no answers

Ok, so I pull up the box score and I see a big easy win. I look at the stats and see.
Only 9 players played.
Of those - only 6 played real minutes.
Of the 4 non starters - only 2 even shot the ball.
Of the 2 that shot - they only shot the ball 9 times.
Of the 9 shots - 6 were from Gabe.
So, the 6 players in a route - took all but 3 shots in the game.
Our bench shored a total of 6 points.
Our bench shot 2 of 9.
The entire team shot 26% 3 pointers.
I don't understand why we can't find guards who can shoot the 3. (Even undersized ones).
I don't understand why we don't have a bench that can at least score some.
I don't understand why we have 14 players - but only 9 can play in a blowout.
I don't understand why we have 8 guards on the team and not one of them is a consistent 3 point shooter.
I don't understand why our bench is so weak.
I am not trying to start another BB argument. This is more me just going - wow - why is there not more guards in the world that can shoot. (I understand that the Dukes of the world will be the 6-4 guards who can shoot. But goodness, should there not be a bunch of 5-9 to 6-0 guys out there that can play 5 minutes a half and hit a couple of open shots?

Singing to the choir friend.Happy Thanksgiving. If not Brownell the next coach will figure it out. The facilities will be top notch. We can win hear with the right coach and system to attract good talent. We may never become a Duke but we should make tournaments.

Not sure why you would complain about a win on Thanksgiving.
Not sure why anyone think the facilities will be top notch as they will only be serviceable given the size of our investment.
Not sure why anyone would think the next coach will figure it out as the last 10 coaches have not been able to figure it out or if they did jumped at the first opportunity to move up.
Maybe it's not the coach and maybe our lot in life is to be a football, baseball and soccer school.

What you will be.
Nobody complained about the win. Just discussing stats and basketball.
Do I expect to be top 10 consistently like football, soccer, and maybe again baseball? Nope.
Do I expect to be competitive and occasionally make a run? Yep.
There was a time - I graduated in 81 - that Clemson was a tough place to get a win - that we were competitive - that other teams knew they were in for a fight - even though we lost our share.
That is what I aspire to. Maybe then - I will set my sights even higher. We shall see.

The facility improvements are top notch. $63.5 million is more than the $62 million on the new football facility.
GA Tech built a good new rebuilt arena with facilities and it was on $40 million so we are paying more. I saw VCU's new practice facility and is nice and Clemson is using the same type design . Know the facts...

We have 12 scholarship players, not 14. In fact, you're only allowed 13 but Ajukwa transferred. Of the three that didn't play, one isn't eligible academically yet and two are transfers in sitting out the season. So, 9 guys played.
Holmes is a guard and he can shoot. Reed sitting out is a guard and he can shoot.

last year on their way to the national championship! It wasn't until late into the year that they had hardly anyone contribute off the bench. I wouldn't be complaining about a route in which nine players got in the game.
