I made a bet with a manager I know for a Mexican

Restaurant I go to quite a bit . He is a big Carolina fan. We bet a dinner before the season that they wouldn't win 6 games. That 5 would be the most they'd win. So naturally I hated them winning against nc state. Wonder if I'll lose this one? I think I have a chance still to pull out the bet. Thoughts?

Well - FWIW, I predicted USUC would be 0-10 when they play Wofford at Home, and go 1-11 this year. So I already missed it by 1. I still think NCSU should have stomped them.

The SEC other than Bama is so weak a high school could win six games.

Mighty bold assumption that the Coots are on par with a high school IMO!!!!

You won't lose.

They currently have two wins - NC State and Missouri.

They will beat Wofford. They might get lucky and win a game or two, but I'm seeing losses for most of their remaining games.

Five wins for the Coots, tops.

Don't Count Wofford a W

Wofford went to the Semi's last year in the FCS playoffs... They are stout this year with veteran skill guys... I see another FCS beat down with Samuels out for the season.

Whew. I thought you were betting a Mexican.

S&P+ projections have them right at 6 wins. It also gives

them a 65% chance to win 6+ games.

https://www.footballstudyhall.com/pages/2017-south-carolina-advanced-statistical-profile

They did, however, fall 13 spots from last week (down to 54th) after losing 23-13 to Kentucky, and they may continue to drop as their on field results fail to meet their preseason projection (which i believe was in the 30s.) That could push things a little closer to even for you.

They have a decent to good chance of winning of the following 4 games:

Wofford - 94%
LA Tech - 75%
Vandy - 48%
Arkansas - 47%

They are heavy underdogs in the rest.

Florida - 34%
at Tenn - 33%
at A&M - 30%
at UGA - 24%
Clemson - 19%

They basically need to win 3 of their winnable games and pull 1 upset to get to 6. Considering that Florida and Tenn aren't very good (and A&M might not be either), that's quite possible.
