Dominated by Dylan F'ing Thompson

Nov 25, 2012, 1:02 AM

Didn't see that coming. Guy was lucky to get an offer from Newberry. Once again, dominated in the trenches. Physically whipped.

I wonder if Dabo, and Brent saw it coming.Wonder how much time they devoted to Dylan in practice/Not much I would wager from his performance tonite.
Could this be another case of being out coached again?

I am telling you right now.. this was pure spurrier.. i guranteed you they were not ready for Thompson. They were devoted to Shaw all week. making sure they stopped the run and tried to keep things in front of them.. which they stopped the run pretty well but they were not ready for a passer.. good job on spurrier the HBC did his deed.. he knew he wasnt going to play shaw..

the only thing about that point is...

Thompson ran effectively too. Our defense is just lost.

Sometimes it's the little guy that ends up torturing your soul.

He was a 2 star as was their TE. Got to hand it to Spurrier.

Nov 25, 2012, 7:40 AM

He does a heck of a job evaluating talent. How else can anyone explain that we have outrecruited them 7 of the past 9 years. Yet, they hand us our ### 4 straight times. Either that, or they do a better job of recruiting for "needs" or, they simply do a better coaching job.

SOS does not recruit to RIvals's or Scout's star ratings . .

Nov 25, 2012, 8:18 AM

He laughs at those ratings. He didn't recruit to player rankings when he was at Florida, either.

Sure, he got 5* players Lattimore and Clowney. Who wouldn't. However, their rankings were incidental to the quality of their talent and the high probability of success on the field that they offered.

Btw, our DC, Lorenzo Ward, formerly of VT has the SOS attitude re: recruiting 'star talent'. Why? Because, like SOS, he knows what he's doing.

Ward was a pleasant surprise this year. We didn't miss a

beat after losing Ellis Johnson. If anything, our defense is better under Lorenzo.

In all honesty - with our DB situation, you could replace Dylan's name and insert just about anybody. Not making excuses ... it is what it is. Young secondary, with mediocre talent. I mean - c'mon, outlet passes to the 3rd or 4th receiver or RB out of the backfield for gains of 20+ anytime they needed it. That is why we couldn't get off the field.
