Aren't all pit bulls bred for fighting though?

Isn't that what the breed does?

Using them for hogs.
In Oklahoma there’s a guy who just gets them from the shelters and trains them to catch hogs. They will lick you in the face and be the sweetest thing ever and 30 minutes later they’re ripping the throat out of a hog.
But no. They were not meant to be fighting dogs. They just happened to be turned into that. I mess with all kinds of dogs and I’ve been bitten by labs 4:1 against all other breeds combined.

I wouldn't doubt that.

I'd also imagine that labs are 4:1 in numbers over other breed of dogs. Include the inbreeding that has occurred from people trying to make money on them, and that doesn't surprise me.
ANECDOTALLY ($1 to robertn) I've had labs and golden retrivers my whole life, and never as much been nipped by one of them.
But you don;t see many stories of labs and golden retrievers mauling their owners (or others) to death.

In the lbs defense

They were always extremely high drive dogs, the owners couldn’t handle them so they pretty much turned into wild dogs.
Pit bulls, especially those you’ll find in shelters are often abused and if you just show them the love they need they’ll never leave you. When you get into having 2-3+ dogs that’s when they get dangerous. They’re very possessive over their loyal owners.
It’s just a shame the breed has been reduced to a fighting dog. They have no quit in them which is why they’re used for fighting. They won’t stop until someone is dead. It’s brutal to even think about.

Both. Never get between a pit bull

And his jaws. I've seen people chewed up by pit bulls (even took photos for evidence). Most of the time the person got in between the pit bull and the other dog. Never do this. I've seen them be the sweetest and meanest towards humans. The dog I trust the least is the rott. They go mad crazy.

The pit bull breed should be ended.

Without warning they turn on their owners, and as in this case, become uncontrollable. I'd say that much like experimenting with heroin, someone gets what they deserve with pit bulls when the outcome is bad. But often, that outcome has nothing to do with the original owners.
I love dogs. But I have no use for pit bulls or their variants.

why didn't you tell Carlsbad that the dogs that killed that woman we not pitbull. Cause you know so much you must know those dogs at 100+ lbs couldn't be pitbull because pitbull only grow to about 60 lbs.

I don’t think the article said the dogs were 100+ lbs.

The article actually said it was the dog owner who weighed about 125 lbs.
But nice job attacking IE. Now prepare to be doxed.

"Initial reports from the medical examiner’s office said Stephens — whom Agnew described as petite, 5-foot-1 and 125 pounds — "
"Agnew said it took deputies hours to wrangle the dogs, which he estimated each weighed as much as Stephens.
