Looking forward to the next "coaching up" ability to get

Oct 7, 2013, 8:13 PM

tossed about by the chickens. On one side we have Clemson, who helped an incoming RB evolve into one of the nation's top pass rushers, and mid-season sack leader, by his Junior season in Vic Beasley. On the other we have SCar, who took the top DE prospect in a generation according to most pundits and turned him into a ##### cat, sans cat, by his Junior season.

It's been wonderfully quiet in Columbia this fall. Hope both sides keep it up.

They're still whining about THE BEAST getting more sacks

Oh, he most certainly does get DT on many plays. However, we actually have interior DL that pose similar problems for an OL.

True dat. I'd have to say that our entire DL, going

two deep, is another prime example of the staff's ability to get the most out of these kids.

We are not a 1 man show, quite unlike the chickens.

Doesn't he have to play to get double-teamed?***

Agreed, but in addition, and most importantly ...

... our staff develops our players into men, not just football players.

When they say he is getting double teamed, does that mean they have two people on the sidelines coming at him with oxygen at the same time?

when you have your DT's warranting double teams. Vic will get some one on one. Jarrett, Reader, Williams, and Watson are monsters. They will get double teamed if the guards can't handle them one on one. so yes Vic, Tavares, Shaq, and Corey will beat one on one. That is giving the secondary short routes and time to adjust last year they didnt really get pressure so that is where the the big plays came. This year they are getting on the QB's so fast they have to throw the ball earlier than they have to. Makes the whole defense look better. And those defensive stats are misleading because we are playing more people later in games than most teams are. Look at FSU for a chance. They played their starters all the way into the 4th quarter after being up 50-0. So with a lot of kids getting more snaps it will help us in the long run. Yea we might give up yards, but these teams are only averaging 16 points a game. when we are putting up #### near 44. Ill take that every week
