I've started drinking wine on weeknights.

2 glasses of red wine.

Now I don't like wine. But what I've read says that drinking 2 glasses of red wine per night provides a lot of antioxidants and will potentially make you healthier.

Plus alcohol.

Anybody else do this? What red wine is best (under $5 a bottle)

cheap wine?

For the record, publix does really good BOGOs on wine where you can get 2 bottles of $20 for the price of one. That's as low as I can go.

Here's what I bought yesterday for Thanksgiving week:

Whispering Angel Rose (KMS' fave)
Veuve
Quilt Napa Cab
Sean Minor Pinot Noir
Williamette Valley Pinot Noir
Austin Hope Cab
Mezzacorona (sister of KMS is a pinot grigio girl)

I was gifted a bottle of Kosta Brown Pinot Noir yesterday that will likely be the Turkey Day selection

No real need for name brands, honestly, they all drink basically the same. Add a little FDC Red #5 to get the full red wine effect. Walgreens makes a good one.

Since I have been in the industry so long, I’m partial to the brands I had, but yellowtail is prob one of the best for the price, also Woodbridge, I’m not a fan of barefoot. Trader Joe’s has some really good private labels for 5-7$.

5 or so years ago, the first Sunday we lived up there my wife was calling around all the convenience stores looking for some Cabernet or something...all the Pendleton QT has was Pinot and White Zinfandel.
