Does the Big 12 allow oversigning and cutting like the SEC?

Jun 9, 2012, 10:38 AM

To me, that is really the huge advantage that the SEC has had the last 10 years over the ACC.

You basically get multiple do-overs and don't have to pay the price for mistakes in recruiting.

How you can compete year and year out with those who do

it with impunity?

IF it was a big deal to those that mattered, parents, kids

and high school coaches, it would change.

it has been going on for years.

I'm not suggesting it should change. I'm wondering how we

compete with schools, the majority of which are in the Big 12 and SEC, that do it with impunity, if we don't change our policy. Particularly if we go to the Big 12.

we've been 'competing' against it for years and haven't

changed.

the sec is the only conference with rules against oversigning

And they are the worst offenders.***

I thought the SEC recently passed a rule against oversigning? Or did they shoot that down...

it'll be "business as usual" in the SEC......

of course, the conference does expect each coaching staff to abide by the "Spirit of the rule"......lol

Also, all NCAA scholarships are 1 year deals. Remember last year they were thinking about adding the $2k stipend? They also were talking about making scholarships multi-year deals as well.
