Coke misses out with a lousy design -- their loss

Jan 14, 2017, 1:31 PM

Okay so -- yeah, the Coke can design for the national championship sucks.

here's a pic.

The reason they do it is for sales. But if there is a better design out there, what do you think the Clemson community will do?

I think the producers of Orange Crush need to have a design ready to go on Monday morning and have that in production ASAP.

Just imagine a bottle like this one with a silver tiger paw embossed on one side and the CFP trophy engraved on the other. Beautiful.

The drink is owned and operated by the same group that owns Dr. Pepper -- of CFP sponsorship fame. This should not be a big leap.

If you think it is a good idea, let them know. Here is their FB page:

“Clemson wasn’t that much better with Trevor Lawrence, if at all.”

Here's the message I sent them.

Hello DPSG - a competitor of yours just produced a less than inspiring commemorative can for the national champion Clemson Tigers. Some of us fans are wondering ... would Orange Crush consider stepping into the breach. There is a wonderful tie-in here, in addition to Dr. P sponsorship of the CFP. The winning play, which Clemson ran to beat Alabama with 1 second on the clock is called ... "Crush". We'd love to see an inspiring bottle design we can purchase and put on our shelves as a remembrance of the fantastic Clemson achievement.

FWIW, I recommend buying bottles. I still have can from 81 but it exploded about 5 years ago. It was stored indoors in air conditioning its entire life, didn't matter.......buy bottles.

Does orange crush sponsors Clemson?

Nm

Good or bad design, Coca Cola has been there for the tigers.

Sorry but that can is a dud. We still have our '81 bottle but had to throw out the can long ago. We may buy a 6 pack to drink but none to save.

I wonder if Coke had to pay for being the first "speaker"

Jan 14, 2017, 2:37 PM

Do you think Coke called and said they wanted to present us the can thing, and we said it was ok... of did we say "show us the money" first?

I hope we got some money off of that...

It's sorry. I was real disappointed***

NO FARMERS NO FOOD

All they had to do was slap "Clemson Tigers" on there...

Jan 14, 2017, 2:52 PM

They guy said they started production with one second left.

Wasn't really that difficult, was it?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm glad they did it and I still want one. I have bottles
