They have only 7 players on defense?

Sep 26, 2016, 9:32 AM

Dang! If we can't run the ball on them, we really DO suck on O.

Yes, yes, and yes. It seems that almost any defense now gives us trouble.

Thanks for the input COOT

Yes.

As they have for the last two years. It's going to be a struggle.

However, there quarterback will have the weight of the world and one thousand pounds of lightning fast defensive tackle on his shoulders Satdee night. He's not seen this kind of speed from 300+ pound men before.

This is what I foresee. Clemson's D-line will shock

Sep 26, 2016, 10:14 AM

the CFB world by living in the Louisville backfield all night, making their O look average or worse.

Go Tigers!!!!

We haven't run blocked any defense so far.***

well, we won't have Cole Stoudt at QB for the game like 2

Sep 26, 2016, 10:13 AM

years ago after DW broke his pinky.

Course I feel as if we have 5 Cole Stoudt's run-blocking for us this year

so that doesn't bode well....

(btw, jk on the whole Cole issue - the man left us well served, especially at the OB)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

How'd Deshaun do in the game before he went out?

Sep 26, 2016, 11:13 AM

Not that I think we can't move the ball on them, but people forget how bad Deshaun'd numbers were before he got injured in that game.

OB = Orange Bowl?

Russell.

There's something in these hills.

Probably? We haven't fared particularly well against it the

previous two years but there were also outside factors involved in those games that could be at least partially responsible.

In 2014 Watson was making just his 3rd start and he looked confused early in his 2-3 drives before breaking his finger. Stoudt obviously struggled when he came in as well, but Stoudt struggled in all of his games that year (except the bowl against OU).

Last year it was just our 3rd game of the season. It was our first real opponent, it was a road TH night game, Watson was still trying to ease his way back into the offense, we still weren't letting him run the ball at that point, and we were still looking for WRs to emerge to fill the void that was left by Mike Williams' neck injury.

I think a good bit of the credit goes to the Louisville defense, but i definitely wouldn't discount the other factors. This year it's definitely put up or shut up time though.

Watson ran the ball 12 times last year***

How many were designed runs and options?

Sep 26, 2016, 11:20 AM

In college statistics, sacks count as rushes. Plus however many scrambles he had that went as a rush but the playcall was a pass.

Regardless, his average attempt per game was 14, so he was below average.

It's been a long time since I've watched that one, but i

Sep 26, 2016, 11:22 AM [ in reply to Watson ran the ball 12 times last year*** ]

don't recall many designed runs for Watson. I was thinking that was more a result of pressure.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Watson averaged 22 rushes for 115 yards per game over

Sep 26, 2016, 11:48 AM [ in reply to Watson ran the ball 12 times last year*** ]

the last 4 games of the season.

Sep 26, 2016, 11:21 AM

They will cause us fits but DW will take what they give us and we will move the ball and score when we have to. DW is a winner I do not see him losing this game

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Oklahoma played 3-4 D against us last two years.***
