Yes, for both computer and t.v. service but my wife is not too crazy about it, and neither am I. But there doesn't seem to be any better options around here, especially for the internet.

I was told I was on the Spectrum?***

I've got their internet and TV streaming package. The TV package is only $25/month and they lowered my internet when I bundled. In the end it actually only cost me an extra $10-$15/month to add the streaming internet.

I like how they let you "hand-pick" your channels with the spectrum app. I chose all the sports they offered plus a few extras that show movies or shows the wife likes.

Last year, we were able to watch every Clemson game because they were all televised on the local channels (included, not part of the 10 "pick-your-own" channels.) I'm not sure how ACC network will affect this, but I will keep an eye out.

The only real problems I had was the first month or two the TV app on my Samsung Smart-TV was really glitchy and would crash and freeze. I called Spectrum 3-4 times and they finally did some sort of update that fixed the issue. I also got bill credit for all the glitchiness.

If ACCNetwork isn't offered on Spectrum, this fall I will consider switching to Youtube TV, Sling, or any of those others that has ACCN. I primarily went with Spectrum becasue it was the cheapest option by far.

So I understand you have their basic cable tv package plus the ten channel streaming service. Good it works for you. I had no issues with Spectrums tech service and cable reception, but raising rates by $40 in just six months did it for me after so many years with them.

I also have the spectrum and just can't

Find anything comparable.. outside their streaming service.

I've had Charter/Spectrum for 20+ years

here in Simpsonville. The service has been
great with few problems. My only complaint
like most people is the cost; it goes up a few
dollars every 6 months or so. I only have internet
and extended basic cable with DVR and modem rental,
no premium channels and pay $184/month. But i'm
addicted to it, so I moan and groan and keep paying
for it like an idiot.

They don't charge for modem rentals

Anymore.. you should call.

You should also be getting the 100 mbs service if you aren't already.

I was told by the last tech who came out to my house that they should be giving 200 mbs now. I still have to call to check on this one.

I was still being charged for my modem and 2 boxes that I had turned it. I had to call to get them to take both charges off my bill. I was also still getting the 60mbs.. I know phone calls can be a hassle but I've never had any real pushback from them.

I thought you weren't supposed to ask people about that stuff ?
Spud , my daughter at Clemson would tell you that it just doesn't matter what kind of tackle you're using so long as you're catching the fishes .

I have Spectrum only for the internet connection. Cut off the TV about eight months ago and went with Playstation Vue $50 package thru Roku. Spectrum bill had gone from $145 monthly to $185 within a six month period. Have been pleased with Vue for the most part. History channel is the only one at that level which I would like to have. Total bill for both now $145. Had been a TimeWarner/Spectrum customer for more than 15 years and got tired of calling to get a better rate. When I turned in the equipment, the rep offered a $10 monthly reduction which I thought was an insult.

You should never chalk up to conspiracy what you can reliably attribute to stupidity. Because stupidity is a much more powerful force in the course of human events.

Had Directv, switched to Spectrum, and the 2 channels that my wife always watched never worked worth a crap. They also refused to pay me for switching to them, which ticked me off. After numerous calls to get those channels to work, I gave up after about 3 months and switched back to Directv. I also had Charter internet, and switched that to AT&T, and won't ever go back to Charter/Spectrum. Go ahead and stock up on Vaseline because you're going to need plenty of it when Charter/Spectrum finishes with you.

Yes we have it. Here are our thoughts:

Good:
Never an issue in bad weather

Bad:
- the internet works when it feels like it around our parts(Triad area of NC)
- their email service is trash compared to what it was with time warner. It infuriates the Mrs

Following...

For internet only.

Tried to sign up for TV but they used false advertising and tried to charge me $60 more a month than they advertised after I signed up because I was an existing customer and that was their new customer price. Except I logged in and confirmed I was a customer before they gave the offer. Told them to cancel my order.

I bet I could still go to their website today, give them my address, confirm I am a current customer, LOG IN, and they will still give me that same option at a rate they can't give me.

Not impressed at all.

I have Spectrum and really don't like them. The channels and internet quality is good but I'm stuck paying $200 a month. When I call them and tell them I need to reduce my monthly cost they tell me that I have a "special" package and if I change to less service my cost will actually go up!

I have basic internet with a $30 dollar add-on for 300 Meg from 4 years ago. I told them that the basic speed is 200 Meg so I need to drop the $30 add on. They say if I do that then the rate will actually be higher.

I spoke the NC Regulatory agency about this problem and they said they'll look into it and get back to me with 90 days.

Still waiting on Google Fiber to come to my area. I'm about 15 miles south of Raleigh.

Spectrum is a racket!
