but unfortunately that's not how it works, unless you replaced everybody at one time.
So I'd say his picks need to be restraintists, not activists. The court is there to interpret law, not make law.
John Roberts is the best example of this (I think). He surprisingly sided with Obamacare not against, as he believed that it was law, whether bad or good. His quote was something like "the SCOTUS's role is not to protect the people from the consequences of who they elected." That struck me as a very wise statement.

... I prefer to forget the painful past, for the most part, if I can. Like 1976-1980; 1992-2000 and 2008-2016, primarily. To dwell on those presidential terms only brings angst and uneasiness when I DO remember some of the failed promises, policies and administrations.
As for the presidencies from '80 to '08 in between, I also prefer to not dwell on their missteps/miscues, either, but do seem to recall the best of those times!

I'd love to see a similar one tracking Obama. But we already know Obama didn't live up to a lot of his promises.
I think I've already made it clear that I'm giving Trump a fair shot, and, honestly, some of his proposed policies sound pretty good.
