Disappointed in Our Crowd for Duke

Nov 18, 2018, 11:39 PM

I was one of of only a handful of fans standing or yelling on 3rd downs in a close game against Duke in the 1st half. I know it’s just Duke but have we gotten spoiled? With our crowd, we should average 3-5 false starts a game. I also heard a few dumb drunk millennials complaining most of the first half. Those idiots weren’t even born when we were going 7-5 and losing to a team like Duke. Children should be seen and not heard. True Tiger fans support our team 100% and get off their ##### on a big third down. Unacceptable.

Noticed that the crowd was not very loud. Made a comment “on another site” mentioning the crowd needed to step it up.

Lower North stands, row AA were plenty loud. Fans next Saturday best be prepared for wet seats from rain showers off and on a majority of the day. Yell “loud and proud!”

Go Tigers ??!!

No need to towel off my seat. I won’t be sitting down for the beatdown. I live in Columbia and I can’t wait. If the coot team bus were on fire, I wouldn’t stop to #### on them. I’d go look for gas.

Maybe it was just the upper deck. I’ll be in lower deck from now on. We had good 50 yard line seats but the fans just were not into the game. For those that always sit in uppers, you need to sit in the lower bowl for a game. It’s well worth it.

Some millennials are almost 40

Is it fair to blame an entire generation?

Maybe they don't know what a generation happens to be...

Otherwise blaming a boomer is probably a safer bet (if you were going to blame a generation). (As a "Millennials" in their upper 30s).

I get where your coming from but comparatively

Nov 19, 2018, 3:11 AM

speaking, I think our crowd is pretty good when looking around at other games on Saturday. I watched a little of the Washington St. Arizona game and there wasn't even a 3/4 sell out. Trying to get into the playoffs and they can't even come close to filling the stands? Several others like that also

I saw a pic of the “crowd” at Florida for the game against Idaho. Calling it a crowd is being generous. There was a scattering of about 20,000, most aluminum colored seats.

I have NEVER seen as poor a crowd at Death Valley. Now THAT was embarrassing.

Lower South, everyone around me standing and yelling at crucial moments. At the end of the day, there wasn’t much to cheer for the first
half. We came out flat.

False starts on first and second down help, too.

I had the opposite impression

That was probably the largest crowd ever for a Duke game. The stadium was nearly at capacity.

As far as yelling, it was a bit subdued. People like me are going to yell non-stop while we're on defense. But, most people there with families only standup and yell when they feel they must.

Funny aside, there was a lady in the breezeway of section L complaining to about 5 cops that there were some men near her that were drinking liquor, dipping tobacco and being very loud and obnoxious. The cops were like "lady, what do you want us to do. We don't have anywhere to move you." I was thinking, we probably need a few hundred more of them boys scattered throughout the stadium just to help with the volume.

I'm still hoarse this morning...

My section was pretty loud man, everyone is just building up for coots.

were you at a different game? It got a little relaxed near the half but never on a important down.... and Jones had that team ready to go with 15-20 seconds to go on the play clock, not much time for yelling when the play is already under way... Dukies had their act together pre snap... only snafu I recall was the field goal with the guy sitting on the bench late to get in the game rushed the kick...
