Former foes Herschel Walker and Lou Holtz

These two have won a place in my heart for their support of conservative ideals. Honorable, principled men, although neither did well against the Tigers.

Herschel Walker against Clemson:
1) Went 2-1
2) In 2 games he was healthy in (1980 and 1981) he had over 100 yards rushing
In 1982 he was hurt and used as a decoy.
Sounds like Herschel did pretty well to me against Clemson!

If memory serves me,however,Herschel never scored against Clemson. Records show he scored 52 total touchdowns in 3 years, but never one against the Tigers.

I'll settle for a 1-1 tie with one of the best running backs to ever strap on a helmet. That doesn't mean you should be consoled that your best ever spit games with a tiny University like Clemson.

I'll give you the conservative point, but how can you describe a man who brought probation to not one,not 2 but 3 college football programs"principled" or "honorable"?

Will give you one thing;you had a heck of a coach in Vince Dooley. Don't let his out but grew up a UGA fan.My Dad started out in Athens in 1944(he was 18 that year) finished out the semester, enlisted in the Navy, served 2 years before returning home. Dad was born in a little town called Monroe Ga.but upon returning my grandfather had taken a job in Atlanta, and my dad enrolled in the Atlanta branch(Now Ga.State)and graduated in 1949. We grew up Bulldog fans, had an Uncle who graduated Ga.Tech so every other year from about 1960-1968 we got to see UGA/Tech in Atlanta. Fast forward to 1996,I married a girl with a rich tradition of Clemson in her family so I had little choice but to convert. We live near Clemson. Still,I like the "Dawgs" except when we play each other. In fact I would rather play your team than that sorry bunch of "coots" 90 miles slightly east of us.It would be a much better game.

100 yards rushing is good but not great. 2-1 against a team is certainly not great. A Heisman trophy winner unable to score against a team for 3 years is a miserable stat. Your defense of him is very porous.

Need to read the Book “Under a Tarnished Dome”. Coach Lou had a major problem with ETHICS throughout hisCoaching Career!

And his bringing probation to Clemson and later getting fired by Clemson for his antics...
Herschel Walker has stated that at Midnight before signing day he was signing with Clemson. However, the next morning the UGA Bag Men (UGA Mafia including the likes of Coca Cola executives, Billy Payne and others) upped their ante significantly. Thus, the rest is History!

LOL, that probation came from Charley Pell and some of it involved our illegal recruiting battles with Georgia that Georgia managed to cover up better. Hell, y'all bought Herschel a convertible to lure him away from us. Don't pretend y'all were any different in the 70s and 80s.
And pretty sure the poster was referring to Holtz. He's left every program he's coached under investigation or probation.

You can’t.
Same thing with the leader in chief. Cheered on being the leader of the team, but not principled or high character.

Nothing against Herschel. He's always seemed like a good guy.
But Holtz is not an honorable, principled man. He is one of the dirtiest coaches in the history of college football, and if he's in someone's corner politically, that speaks to that individual's character as well.
