hadn't missed a "chip shot" (their term, not mine) that Clemson wouldn't even be in the playoff. I believe the Pitt game would have been radically different if we'd lost the NCSU game.

If Arkansas doesn't convert a 4th and 25 in overtime Alabama wouldn't have made the playoffs last year.

miracle for UGA to beat Florida. In the 90's Miami got miracles on "wide right" twice.
So, we have a miracle. It certainly was one of the most amazing misses I have ever seen following Clemson football and it put Lady Lucky on our side in what looked to be a sure loss.

In 1980 Clemson and South Carolina came very close to beating Georgia! TEAMs win championships and close games!
The NC St miss overshadowed two amazing plays. DW and MW's TD and Marcus Edmonds Int!

Yet nobody denies Miami the national Championship despite "wide right". The FG distance that FSU missed is the same as the last kick missed by NCSU. But we are framed as "shouldn't be there".

I agree. We needed a wakeup call. It was the Pitt game. If NCSU had won that would have been the wakeup game. Why is it that it is skill when a kicker makes a kick, but when he doesn't it is lucky for the other team? I have never seen a coach tell the opposing team they will give them 3 points for a field goal because it is a give me. It was lack of skill on the NCSU kicker plain and simple. We executed and they didn't. We won and they didn't. We deserved it. Haters going to hate.

A missed FG is not that uncommon in college. People act like it was a miracle. We lost once to BC in OT on a missed college PAT. Happens.

^_^ Let's not forget, that was his 3rd in that game alone....he missed his first, 2nd was blocked...then that missed one (which we froze him on) was actually his third miss. Kicks are part of the game....if a kicker misses all 3 he kicked, at some point they have to look at that aspect too and not act like the guy was hitting on them all night. Fact is, he wasn't.

After Georgia's 1980 championship with the miracle against Florida and other close wins, in 1981 Clemson won it by going undefeated and never trailed in a game after our first possession of the second half! Not a lot of luck involved!
