No need to stick our heads in the sand ... this Texas thing
Sep 17, 2013, 12:24 PM
|
|
may affect us ... big-time.
Is Venables the next HC at Clemson? Maybe ...
The Chad will get a HC offer early Dec. No doubt about it.
If Saban takes the Texas job (after Chad accepts a new job) then Dabo is gone.
Our AD has a big decision to make then ... secretly offer Morris to come back to Clemson? Or offer the job immediately to Venables...
there is concern that if Venables gets wind of Morris getting offered first, then he may turn it down as well.
Its all about timing.
This place could be a soap opera come December.

I'm going to enjoy this special season for now. This threat will always be there if we're winning. I'll take that over the most seasons the past 20 years when nobody wanted our coaches.

TX lures Satan away (though I think he'd be stupid to leave what he has) from Bama that they would seriously consider hiring Dabo as his replacement? No offense to Dabo - love him as our coach - just don't see him going to Bama or Bama even offering.

A program such as Bama
Sep 17, 2013, 12:37 PM
|
|
is going after the biggest name coach they can find and it will not be Dabo. A more 'famous' guy will get that call. Dabo would be the right choice but he will not be THE choice.

So, pretty much like every other month.
Chad is a hot commodity and will continue to be considered for HC jobs, and at some point he'll probably take one. Venables won't be here forever either, good assistants rarely are. Dabo himself will either move on or retire some day. Some day we will all be dead. These things we all already know; let's not act surprised or be distraught when they happen. I choose to enjoy the here and now instead of worrying about the thousands of scenarios of how the inevitable will happen.

It is entirely too premature to even remotely consider....

potential coaching changes.
It is also unhealthy to spend any time worrying about things that are totally, completely and entirely beyond your control.
I'd say the likeliohood of Mack Brown surviving another season at Texas is less than 25% and the trickle down effect of his resignation/termination could have an impact on Clemson; particularly if someone like Briles or Patterson is hired to replace Brown.
Those types of things will work themselves out in good time. In the meantime, focus on and enjoy the ride we are currently on otherwise, you risk missing-out on all the fun.

I think he did think before he hit post. There are always idiots wherever you look whose sole purpose is to stir the pot! It's why we have so much chicken crap here. And if it smells like one, usually is !!! Dabo nor chad will be at Texas or Bama next year. So pull clemchump down off the ledge, Clemson plays state on Thursday so, spot the dang ball!!!!

second. I doubt Bama wants Dabo. Im sure they like the guy and all, but he doesnt fit their style. Bama will never run the spread. Dabo may not be an Xs and Os guy but he has shown he loves the spread.
third, you are crazy.

personalities and and sports writers all with the inclination to think that it is very much a possibility, what makes you have such absolute certainty that this scenario is "rediculous"?
Dabo to Bama is definitely far fetched in my book, or at least, at the time being. He's got a lot left to prove here at Clemson before he can go on to run a program that has won 3 out of the last 4 national championships. But Saban potentially going to Texas is not ridiculous.
