We use some shorthand and nicknames that you may not be familiar with, here are just a few:
Coots-Gamecocks
Real USC-Southern Cal
USCe-South Carolina
Tarholes-UNC
Semiholes-FSU
Swofford-Devil-ACC Commish
Tailgate-a party before, during and after the game, must serve at least two meals.

Sand Aggy- Derogatory nickname that UT, BU, OU, etc. gives Tech
Bible Aggy- Same as above only for Baylor
Cockroaches- UT nickname for TCU from a Darrell Royal quote in the 60s.
In 1961, TCU upset #1-ranked Texas 6-0. In 1962, UT coach Darrell K. Royal compared the TCU situation to a cockroach: “It’s not so much what he gets into and carries away but what he falls into and messes up.”
XSU- Tech nickname for Oklahoma State. Xerox insult to imply that OSU stole their guns up hand sign and other minor traditions.
Farmageddon- Joking nickname given to the ISU-KSU game.
Sunflower Showdown- KU vs KSU
The Phog- KU's basketball arena, Phog Allen Fieldhouse.
Red River Rivalry/Red River Shootout: Texas-OU played every year in Dallas at the old cotton bowl stadium at the Texas state fairgrounds. Fanbases split at the 50 yard line.
Iron Skillet- Trophy for TCU's rival game with former SWC foe SMU.
Bedlam- OU vs OSU
Border Showdown- KU vs Missouri
Lone Star Showdown- Texas vs A&M
Battle of the Brazos - Baylor vs A&M
13th grade- Insult thrown at Texas Tech by the other 3 Texas schools
Bugeaters/Corn Aggy- Insults aimed at Nebraska
Puffs- Insults aimed at Colorado and their 420ness.
Backyard Brawl- WVU vs Pitt
